Custom sculpture procurement usually starts with an image and ends with a material specification. The gap between those two points is where most project risk sits: a visually suitable sculpture can still fail on certification, structural support, finish consistency, lead time or installation scope. A useful shortlist therefore does not rank suppliers by portfolio alone. It screens the available material routes against the constraints that decide whether the work can be approved, shipped and installed.

Why custom sculpture needs a constraint-led shortlist

The buyer's problem is not a lack of options. It is the lack of comparable information across options. A stainless steel landmark, a cast bronze figure, a hand-carved marble fountain, a Corten landscape element and a granite memorial are not interchangeable. They differ in material behavior, certification evidence, fabrication method, site fit and maintenance expectations.

That difference matters because custom sculpture is usually a project purchase, not a catalogue purchase. The buyer has to compare a design intent against a production route, then defend that route to an owner, architect, landscape team, public art panel or procurement department. A shortlist is useful only when each option can be tested on the same criteria: material identity, size range, finish, certification, quality control, installation and after-sales scope.

The opportunity is to move the conversation from style alone to verification. That does not remove artistic judgment. It gives the buyer a way to separate a route that can be documented from a route that merely looks plausible in a portfolio. This article uses a shortlist format for that reason. It is not a supplier ranking. It is a structured set of material routes to test against a brief, with the published constraints attached.

The supplier context behind this shortlist

Jiangsu Xinyesheng Sculpture Co, LTD is a Jiangyin-based sculpture design and manufacturing supplier. Its published company data lists a 2025 founding year, registered capital of 10 million yuan, 50 employees, 12 engineers and annual output of 10,000 units. The company reports a 100% export ratio, with main markets in the EU, USA and Middle East, and a product range covering sculpture, statue, relief, tombstone, fireplace and bathtub.

Production data lists a monthly capacity of 50–100 sets, a minimum order of 1 piece or 1 project, and a lead time of 30–60 days. Quality control is described as material inspection, production process inspection, surface quality inspection and final inspection before shipment. After-sales scope includes installation guidance, technical support, replacement service and long-term customer support.

The cooperative factory scope covers sculpture design, production, processing, transportation, installation and after-sales service. The company also lists 3D design support, 1:1 clay model visualization, seaworthy packaging with reinforced wooden crates and steel frames, and global on-site installation guidance. CE RoHS certificates are listed for bronze, marble and stainless steel sculpture, issued by Oct Technology Testing Co., Ltd. for the EU market.

Case data lists hotel groups, landscape design companies, architectural firms, real estate developers, public art organizations and private collectors as client types, with project examples in the US, Canada, UAE, Bulgaria and Israel. Applications cited include hotel decoration, landscape enhancement, public art installation, commercial space decoration, and garden and villa decoration. These facts form the basis for the five options below. They are not a claim that every option fits every project.

How this shortlist is screened

A shortlist becomes useful when every option is checked against the same constraint sheet. For custom sculpture, seven checks do most of the work. They are not marketing criteria. They are the points where a project can lose time, budget or approval after the design has already been accepted.

Screening gateWhat the buyer should verify
Material identityIs the alloy, stone type or steel grade named? Examples in this shortlist include 304/316 stainless steel, cast bronze or brass, natural white marble, granite, travertine and ASTM A242/A588 Corten steel.
Size and structureIs the size range stated? Stainless steel is listed from 1 m to 20 m, bronze from 50 cm to 10 m, stone in custom dimensions, and Corten in custom height and width.
FinishIs the finish defined? The range includes mirror polished, brushed, painted, electroplated, patina, gold leaf, high polish, antique, honed, acid-washed and natural pre-rusted surfaces.
CertificationIs there a certificate number, issuer, market and standard set? CE RoHS records are listed for bronze, marble and stainless steel sculpture for the EU market.
Site exposureIs the project coastal, humid, public, indoor, memorial, garden or hospitality? The supplier FAQ recommends 316 stainless steel for coastal areas.
Quality controlAre inspection gates named? The published sequence is material inspection, production process inspection, surface quality inspection and final inspection before shipment.
Installation and after-salesIs installation guidance, technical support, replacement service and long-term support included in the scope?

Option 1 — XYS-Stainless-Custom for large-scale metal landmarks

This route is specified in 304/316 stainless steel, with a 1 m to 20 m height range, mirror polished, brushed, painted or electroplated finishes, hand-forged forming, precision welding and an internal steel skeleton. Its published selling points include corrosion resistance, 8K mirror polishing through 6–8 hand-polishing stages, seamless welding and a reinforced internal anti-rust steel framework. CE RoHS certificate OCT20260611103R covers stainless steel art sculpture and stainless steel landscape sculpture for the EU market, issued by Oct Technology Testing Co., Ltd.

A large-scale 304 stainless-steel landscape sculpture route. For coastal sites, the supplier FAQ recommends grade 316.

Fit: urban public art, modern architecture, seaside landscape, luxury hotel and shopping mall projects. Verification point: confirm the stainless grade and finish sample. The supplier FAQ recommends 316 stainless steel for coastal areas, while the product specification lists 304/316 as the material family. Boundary: a mirror finish is a high-visibility surface. The acceptable surface standard should be defined before fabrication rather than judged only after delivery.

Option 2 — XYS-Bronze-Custom for figurative and patina-led work

The bronze route uses high-purity cast bronze with a listed copper content above 85%–95%, or brass. Sizes run from 50 cm to 10 m or life size. Finishes include patina, gold leafing, high polish and antiquing. The technique is lost-wax casting with professional welding. The specification describes museum-grade material with high copper purity and an outdoor durability claim of over 50 years. Custom patina offers multi-color oxidation finishes to match aesthetic needs.

Cast bronze animal sculpture. Alloy purity, patina control and lost-wax casting detail are the main verification points.

Fit: public art, museum, real estate, religious institutions and private collections. Verification point: ask for alloy and copper content, because the durability statement is tied to high copper purity, not to the word bronze alone. CE RoHS certificate OCT20260611105R covers bronze statue, bronze art sculpture and bronze animal sculpture for the EU market. Boundary: patina is a controlled finish, not a guarantee of one fixed color over decades. The approved sample should define the acceptable range.

Option 3 — XYS-Stone-Custom for hand-carved stone features

The stone route covers natural white marble, granite and travertine; custom width, height and depth; hand-carved, honed, high-gloss polished or acid-washed finishes; and applications from garden ornament and fireplace mantels to stone fountains, religious carving, marble statues and carved marble bathtubs. The product data describes high-density Grade A blocks, weatherproof performance and hand-carving for deep relief and fine detail. CE RoHS certificate OCT20260611104R covers marble sculpture, marble art sculpture, marble fireplace, marble bathtub and marble tombstone for the EU market, valid from 2026-06-11 to 2031-06-10.

Fit: landscape design, architectural construction, home and garden, temple decoration. Verification point: confirm the stone type, block grade and finish sample, because natural stone is a material family rather than a single uniform surface. Boundary: hand-carving is a schedule-sensitive route. The published 30–60 day lead time is a planning range that should be confirmed against the carving and finishing scope.

Option 4 — XYS-Corten-Custom for landscape and architectural weathering steel

This route uses Corten steel to ASTM A242/A588, with custom height and width, a natural pre-rusted finish for a stable patina or a raw finish for self-weathering, and a specification of maintenance-free performance, natural aging and atmospheric corrosion resistance. The product range includes landscape sculpture, garden edging, fire pit, metal screen and planter box.

Fit: landscape architecture, public parks, modern garden design and industrial-style decor. Verification point: confirm the steel standard and whether the project wants a pre-rusted stable patina or a raw self-weathering surface. Boundary: Corten is a changing finish. The patina develops and shifts with the environment, so it should be selected as a deliberate aesthetic and maintenance decision, not as a fixed color match.

Option 5 — XYS-Monument-Custom for granite memorial and monument work

The monument route uses natural granite in Shanxi Black, G603 or Blue Pearl, standard sizes such as 80x60 cm and 120x80 cm or custom dimensions, with 100% mirror polishing, laser engraving and sandblasting. The specification lists acid and alkali resistance, anti-weathering properties and color stability. It also describes strict finished-product inspection and material traceability intended to support zero-defect quality. Precision engraving uses laser etching for portraits and gold-leaf lettering.

Fit: cemetery construction, memorial stone engineering, landscape architecture and the funeral industry. Verification point: ask for the granite type, finish and engraving sample. The color stability and durability claims are tied to the named granite. Boundary: this is a memorial and monument route, not a substitute for a figurative sculpture brief that needs modeled form, casting or welded metal structure.

Matching the shortlist to site and project type

The scenario data describes indoor and outdoor architectural environments, permanent installation, long-term display and outdoor weather resistance. It also lists installation foundations, steel structure support, LED lighting systems, and lifting and transportation equipment as matched project elements. That is a useful reminder: the sculpture route and the site infrastructure have to be shortlisted together.

Site exposure can change the answer. The supplier FAQ recommends 316 stainless steel for coastal areas. Corten patina behavior changes with the environment. Stone is weatherproof, but structural support and installation detailing still need engineering review. A shortlist is therefore not a final specification. It is a way to narrow the field before the project spends money on samples, engineering or site preparation.

Market signals that shape the shortlist

Third-party estimates place custom sculpture inside a larger art and sculpture economy. Business Research Insights estimates the global art and sculpture market at USD 61.83 billion in 2026 (Art and Sculpture Market Size and Share, 2026–2035, published 3 August 2026). CODAworx reports that over 80.2% of public art open call projects in North America fell below a USD 250,000 budget in 2024 (Public Art Trends, 21 July 2026). Dataintelo estimates the global bronze sculpture commission market at USD 1.47 billion in 2024 (Bronze Sculpture Commission Market Research Report 2033, 30 September 2025). Premier Sculpture Industry Analysis estimates the US sculpture market at USD 5.8–6.2 billion in 2024 (25 July 2025).

These figures come from different methodologies and should be read as directional market context, not as a forecast for a single supplier. The practical signal is budget stratification. A large share of public projects sit below a quarter-million-dollar budget, while large landmark commissions and museum-grade bronze work sit in a different procurement tier. A shortlist should therefore scale by project type rather than assume one material route fits all budgets.

Public funding is another demand driver. Regional Arts Organizations data lists a 2025 US Federal Cultural Agencies budget of USD 708.8 million, including USD 207 million for the NEA (2 February 2026). For buyers, the implication is not that funding is automatically available. It is that public and cultural projects often carry documentation and approval requirements that favor suppliers able to provide material and certification evidence early.

What this shortlist improves, and where it stops

A traditional portfolio-first route asks whether the supplier has made something similar. A constraint-led shortlist asks a harder question: can the supplier show the material, model, certificate, inspection gate and installation scope that the project will actually need? The first route is faster at the concept stage. The second is more useful at the evaluation stage.

LimitationCan miss repeatabilityCannot replace engineering review
Limitation: this shortlist cannot replace structural engineering, a site survey, permits, local safety review or a project-specific maintenance plan. It also cannot make every material suitable for every climate. Grade 316 is recommended for coastal areas in the supplier FAQ, but the final grade still needs project review. Corten is a changing patina finish, not a fixed color. Bronze durability depends on alloy purity. Stone and granite routes depend on carving and finishing schedules. The published 30–60 day lead time is a planning range, not a guarantee for every size and process. A shortlist is a decision aid, not a warranty.

What buyers should expect next

The next phase of custom sculpture procurement is likely to be documentation-led. Buyers are already asking for 3D design confirmation, material certificates, inspection gates and installation scope before they compare visuals. That changes the supplier conversation: a wider catalogue is less useful than a clear evidence trail from design to delivery.

Three developments follow. First, 3D design and 1:1 clay model visualization will be used earlier to reduce interpretation risk. Second, certification files will be requested at the request-for-quotation stage rather than after selection. Third, material routes will be chosen by site exposure and maintenance plan, not only by finish. For buyers, the practical next step is to shortlist two or three routes, then test each against the same constraint sheet: material identity, size, finish, certificate, QC gate, installation and after-sales.

FAQ: custom sculpture shortlist questions

Can a custom sculpture be ordered as a single piece?

Yes. The supplier FAQ states that single-piece orders are accepted, and that multiple pieces can share mold and shipping costs. Full customization starts with drawings, photos or a concept, followed by a 3D design draft for confirmation before production.

Which materials can be shortlisted?

The published range includes cast bronze or brass, 304/316 stainless steel, natural white marble, granite and travertine, Corten steel to ASTM A242/A588, and natural granite for monuments. Bronze is suited to classical or figurative work. Stainless steel offers a modern look and corrosion resistance, and the supplier FAQ recommends 316 for coastal areas.

What certification evidence is available?

CE RoHS certificates are listed for bronze, marble and stainless steel sculpture, issued by Oct Technology Testing Co., Ltd. for the EU market: bronze OCT20260611105R, marble OCT20260611104R and stainless steel OCT20260611103R. The standards cited are IEC 62321-3-1:2013, IEC 62321-4:2013+AMD1:2017, IEC 62321-5:2013, IEC 62321-6:2015, IEC 62321-7-1:2015, IEC 62321-7-2:2017 and IEC 62321-8:2017. The certificate records list issue dates of 2026-06-11 and expiry dates of 2031-06-10.

How long does production take?

The published lead time is 30–60 days. The exact schedule is assessed after design approval and depends on size, material and surface finish. The range should be treated as a planning window rather than a fixed promise for every project.

Is installation support included?

Installation guidance and technical support are listed in the after-sales scope. The supplier FAQ states that each sculpture comes with installation instructions and that on-site installation can be guided by video call if needed. Project-specific structural support, lifting and foundation work still need local engineering review.
