Our 6mm tempered glass is designed for interior partition applications, offering a balance of clarity, strength, and safety. With a surface stress of 95 MPa and a breaking pattern of obtuse-angle grains, it meets stringent safety requirements for indoor environments. Certified by SGS (Report No. GZIN1806033811CM for 6mm heat soaked toughened glass), this product is suitable for office partitions, storefronts, and shower enclosures.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Thickness | 6mm |
| Surface Stress | 95 MPa |
| Intensity (Bending Strength) | 150 MPa |
| Thermostability | 250–320°C |
| Broken State | Obtuse-angle grain |
| Self-Destruction | Reduced via heat soak process (certified oven calibrated per BS EN 14179-1:2016) |
Standard thickness: 6mm. Other thicknesses (4mm–25mm) available in separate product variants. Custom shapes and hole drilling can be accommodated.
Float glass base material, heated to near-melting point (approx. 650°C) then rapidly cooled to create compressive surface stress. The process transforms the glass into a safety glazing material with a characteristic grain pattern upon breakage.
We offer custom cutting, edge polishing, hole drilling, notching, and surface treatments (e.g., silkscreen printing, frosting). MOQ: 100 m². Delivery terms: EXW/FOB/CIF.
Our tempered glass has been used in a variety of projects. For instance, a large Australian Build-to-Rent project implemented our clear tempered glass in curtain walls, achieving stable structural performance (≥85%) and excellent energy efficiency (relative energy saving ratio ≥65%). While that project used thicker glass, our 6mm variant is ideal for interior applications where lighter weight is preferred.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity for 6mm tempered glass?
A: MOQ is 100 m².
Q: Can I get a sample before bulk order?
A: Yes, samples are available. Please contact our sales team for cost and shipping details.
Q: What certifications does this product hold?
A: SGS test report for 6mm heat soaked toughened glass (No. GZIN1806033811CM), SGCC certification for tempered safety glass (Nos. 5566/5568/.../5581), and compliance with ANSI Z97.1, CPSC 16 CFR 1201, and AS/NZS 2208.
Q: How do you prevent self-destruction?
A: We perform heat soak testing in a calibrated oven (calibration report J18-117-R01-180903 per BS EN 14179-1:2016) to reduce the risk of nickel sulfide inclusion-related breakage.
Q: What payment terms do you accept?
A: 30% TT in advance, 70% balance before shipping. For orders below USD $10,000, full payment is required.
Q: What is the lead time?
A: Typically 15–25 working days after order confirmation, depending on order quantity and complexity.
