2. Connection Structure and Standards
Type E: Male camlock adapter x integral hose shank (hose tail). The male end has a cylindrical nose, annular groove and gasket-contact face; the opposite end fits an industrial hose.
Cam-and-Groove References: A-A-59326 (formerly MIL-C-27487) and applicable EN 14420-7 / DIN 2828 interfaces.
Type E has no cam arms, captive camlock gasket or pipe threads.
3. Brass Materials and Manufacturing
Body: Copper-zinc brass alloy, with specified CW617N or C37700 grades where applicable.
Production: Brass forging, casting or CNC machining according to geometry and quantity.
Brass selection considers machinability, strength, fluid compatibility, water chemistry and dezincification resistance. Alloy certificates and composition checks can support purchasing requirements.
4. Integral Hose Shank and Attachment
Connection: One-piece ribbed or serrated brass hose tail for insertion into a matching hose.
Key Features: Shank OD, insertion length, barb height, rib spacing, retention shoulder, transition radius and flow bore.
Attachment: Suitable hose clamps, band clamps or engineered ferrule/crimp assemblies. Hose ID, reinforcement, wall thickness and clamp position affect retention and sealing.
5. Mating Couplers and Locking Geometry
Compatible Female Couplers: Type B (male thread), Type C (hose shank) and Type D (female thread).
Cam arms on the female coupler engage the Type E annular groove, pulling its sealing face against the coupler's internal gasket.
Controlled nose OD, insertion length, groove width/depth and face geometry support mating fit. Type DC dust caps protect disconnected male adapters.
6. Gasket Interface and Operating Conditions
Mating Gaskets: NBR (Buna-N), EPDM, FKM or silicone, selected for media and temperature. The gasket belongs to the female coupler, not the Type E adapter.
Pressure and temperature capability depend on size, brass grade, mating coupler, gasket, hose design, attachment method and fluid. Hose retention and connection sealing are evaluated as an assembly.
7. Dimensions, Flow Bore and Surface Finish
Inspection Dimensions: Nose OD, locking groove, contact face, hose tail OD, rib profile, insertion length, through-bore, wall thickness and overall length.
Finish: Natural brass; CNC-finished mating surfaces, cleaned and deburred edges, optional polishing and laser identification.
The flow-bore transition and shank surface support hose installation and fluid passage.
8. Quality Control and Functional Testing
Quality Management: ISO 9001:2015.
Inspection: Alloy identity, forming defects, nose/groove dimensions, sealing face, hose-tail profile, bore condition and burr removal.
Functional Checks: Type B/C/D fit, cam-arm engagement, repeated coupling cycles and agreed hose-retention, leakage or pressure tests on complete assemblies. Dimensional and material reports are available by agreement.
