CS Core Material – Optimize Resin Infusion and Improve Laminate Stiffness
URL Slug: vacuum-infusion-core-material-cs
CS Core Material is a lightweight composite core designed for vacuum infusion, resin infusion, and closed molding processes. It integrates resin flow channels to enable uniform resin distribution and efficient infusion, while providing sandwich construction benefits. This core material helps manufacturers improve laminate stiffness and reduce weight, making it ideal for marine, transportation, industrial, and general composite applications. Made from polyester nonwoven fabric, it offers a cost-effective alternative to Soric SF core materials.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Thickness | 2mm / 3mm |
| Roll Length | 80m / 50m |
| Width | 1.27m |
| Max Process Temperature | 170°C |
| Dry Weight | 130 g/m², 170 g/m² |
Available in two thickness and weight configurations: 2mm with 130g/m² dry weight, and 3mm with 170g/m² dry weight. Roll lengths are 80m for 2mm thickness and 50m for 3mm thickness, providing flexibility for different production scales.
The core is made of polyester nonwoven fabric, engineered with integrated resin flow channels to facilitate efficient infusion. This structure allows for excellent resin distribution and creates a lightweight core that improves laminate stiffness in sandwich construction.
CS Core Material is used in a wide range of industries including marine & yacht building, transportation, industrial composites, wind energy, RV & caravan manufacturing, and infrastructure. It is suitable for vacuum infusion, resin infusion, and closed molding processes.
OEM labeling is available for the product roll wrapping and labels. Minimum Order Quantity may vary; please contact our sales team for customization options and detailed technical support.
A marine yacht builder in Australia used CS Core Material for vacuum infused hull and deck sandwich structures, achieving a smooth surface, easy wet-out, and better finish. The material contributed to weight reduction and improved structural stiffness. The builder reported successful results in their production.
CS Core Material is a nonwoven fabric core with integrated resin flow channels, used primarily as a flow medium and to create a sandwich structure. Unlike foam cores, it does not provide significant structural thickness by itself but improves resin flow and laminate stiffness when used with a face sheet.
The maximum process temperature is 170°C, allowing compatibility with most common resin systems.
While primarily designed for vacuum infusion, it can also be used in resin infusion and closed molding. Hand lay-up is possible but the resin flow channels may not be fully utilized.
We offer 2mm and 3mm thicknesses. The dry weight is 130g/m² for 2mm and 170g/m² for 3mm.
MOQ details are not specified; however, we accommodate both sample and bulk orders. Please contact us for specific requirements.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the resin flow channel integrity.
Custom width cutting is possible upon request to suit your production needs.
