2. Connection Structure and Interface Standards
Type A: Male camlock adapter x female pipe thread. The male end includes an adapter nose, annular cam groove and gasket-contact face; the female threaded end accepts a matching male pipe or equipment port.
Cam-and-Groove References: A-A-59326 (formerly MIL-C-27487) and applicable EN 14420-7 / DIN 2828 designs.
Type A has no integral cam arms, hose shank or captive camlock gasket.
3. Polypropylene Material and Production
Body: Polypropylene (PP), with glass-fiber-reinforced polypropylene (GFPP) options according to design requirements.
Process: Injection molding with controlled tooling and optional post-molding finishing of critical connection surfaces.
PP offers low weight, corrosion resistance to many compatible chemicals and no need for metallic plating. Resin grade, reinforcement, additives and operating medium affect mechanical and chemical performance.
4. Female Pipe Thread Options
BSPP Female (G): ISO 228-1 parallel internal thread.
BSPT Female (Rc): ISO 7-1 tapered internal thread.
NPT Female: ASME B1.20.1 tapered internal thread.
Thread design considers pitch, engagement depth, molded profile, mating material and sealing method. Tightening practices must account for polymer deformation and creep; excessive torque may damage plastic threads.
5. Mating Camlock Couplers and Locking
Compatible Female Couplers: Type B (male thread), Type C (hose shank) and Type D (female thread), with corresponding nominal sizes and interface profiles.
Cam arms on the female coupler engage the PP adapter's annular groove and draw the adapter face against the coupler gasket.
Controlled nose diameter, groove width/depth and insertion length support secure fit. Type DC dust caps protect disconnected male adapters.
6. Gasket Interface and Service Conditions
Mating Gasket Options: NBR (Buna-N), EPDM, FKM or silicone in the female coupler, chosen for chemical and temperature compatibility. The Type A adapter itself carries no camlock gasket.
Working pressure and temperature depend on PP resin, reinforcement, size, wall thickness, mating parts, thread joint, gasket and fluid. Plastic strength and allowable pressure can decrease as temperature rises.

Inspection: Resin identification, molding condition, flash/voids, thread gauge fit, groove dimensions, nose geometry, contact face, bore cleanliness and visual condition.
